Company Overview

Merge OEM is a Merge Healthcare company focused on the development of custom engineered software applications and development tools for the medical imaging OEM and International markets. Merge OEM is deployed in hospitals and clinics worldwide and is licensed by many of the world's leading medical device and healthcare information technology companies.

Merge OEM technologies and expertise span all the major digital imaging modalities including computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), digital X-ray, mammography, ultrasound, echo-cardiology, angiography, nuclear medicine, positron emission tomography (PET) and fluoroscopy. Merge OEM medical imaging offerings are used in all aspects of clinical imaging workflow including the capture of a patient's digital image; the archiving, communication and manipulation of digital images; sophisticated clinical applications to analyze digital images; and the use of imaging in minimally-invasive surgery.

Experience
Merge OEM's imaging experience spans all aspects of imaging workflow. Today, we have 20,000 medical imaging installations worldwide. Over 4,300 of these are PACS image management systems. Our Imaging Application Platform software, IAP, is embedded in 30% of MRIs shipped annually. According to figures reported in 2002 by the National Electronic Manufacturers Association, IAP is also an integral part of 82% of all PET-CT systems installed in the USA.

Innovation
Merge OEM's Research and Development Lab is involved in the design of some of the industry's most clinically appealing user interfaces. Our experience with MRI and CT acquisition has allowed us to introduce advanced yet simple to use technologies that meet the digital imaging needs of some of the world's most demanding medical device manufacturers and distributors.

Vision
The Internet inevitably will play an ever more important role in healthcare solutions. Merge OEM is utilizing it not only for image distribution, but also for diagnosis, deployment, training and full integration into the electronic patient record. Our next generation Merge OEM I-Reach products are a major step toward a fully web-based PACS implementation
