Increasing use of medical imaging in Oncology and pressure to increase productivity to support higher patient volumes are driving Oncology-specific clinical applications. Multi-disciplinary teams require efficient tools to help remotely edit and communicate contours for radiation therapy planning. Many current PACS systems are not geared up to allow entry of such data, and many radiation planning and therapy companies do not yet provide efficient web interfaces to this data. Cedara I-Contour™ RT is a works in progress thin client web-enabled application that allows the oncologist (or delegate) to remotely contour target and risk structures securely through a web browser, and dosimetrists to retrieve this valuable data for incorporation into the radiation therapy plan.
