Using patented technology from the University of Michigan under an exclusive license, Cedara Software can offer unique registration technology for use in imaging application development. This technology requires no pre-processing, minimal user input and has the potential to implement either affine, i.e., linear or thin-plate spline (TPS) warped registrations. Our customers are using the rigid registration to better image fused studies, such as PET/CT, MR/CT, SPECT/CT, and even MR/MR or CT/CT over time. Cedara’s registration technology has been fully incorporated into the Open Eyes development platform, and has been used successfully in our Cedara PET/CT™ and Cedara I-Response™ applications.
Key features of the Cedara automatic multimodality image registration technology
Eliminates preprocessing
Older fusion imaging required opening the image and stripping away the surrounding anatomy. In addition, users also needed to be in the close proximity to the anatomy and manually select landmarks. Cedara technology eliminates preprocessing needs by automatically choosing landmarks for you.
Fully Automated Mode
Cedara’s registration technology provides the user with the option of automating all set-up so that the user need only press the “Start” button for fast and efficient registration. A manual option is provided in cases where the user wishes to manually set key landmarks as a starting point for registration.
Quickly fuses images
Because the registration is completely automatic, most registration pairs are done in less than ten seconds. An intuitive user interface also allows for quicker training on the end application.
Truly Multimodality
The Cedara registration technology has been used on any combination of PET, CT, MR, and SPECT images.
Accelerates Application Development
Because the Cedara Registration technology has already been integrated into proven applications, your application development is accelerated. Our development team is has been working with this technology for years, and is experienced in efficiently integrating it.
