Cedara Atlas Segmentation™
Welcome to the Cedara Atlas Segmentation Toolkit!
In today's radiology practice, quantification is becoming key in the decision making process. Quantification and image analysis already play an important role in other medical fields, such as cardiology.
In order to measure and quantify anatomy in images, the radiologist must first identify and segment the anatomical landmarks. Typically, this is a time-consuming, manual task performed without any form of automation.
Meeting the Segmentation Challenge
Current research in segmentation has shown that atlas-based segmentation is one of the few techniques that works consistently across modalities and anatomies. The technique provides:
Fully automatic segmentation without user intervention
Resistance to noisy, blurred, or indistinct images
Cedara Atlas Segmentation provides a full set of tools allowing you to create and utilize atlas-based segmentation in your products. With the toolkit, you can segment an image in as little as 10 lines of C++ code.

What's in the Toolkit
Developer Tools:
Contouring Tools which simplify and speed the process of creating the anatomical contours;
Atlas Builder Tool which creates the atlas from the contours;
Segmentation Comparison Tool for comparing segmentation from two contours; and
Microsoft® Visual Studio® Plug-In 2D viewer allowing developers to see images and shapes while debugging.
Library, containing:
Image2D containing a two-dimensional image;
Shape2D containing a two-dimensional shape;
Atlas2D containing the Atlas; and
Optimizer2D, which performs the segmentation.
